Paytm Fastg will stop after 29th Feb

The Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL) has made a decision to remove Paytm Payments Bank from the list of banks authorized to issue FASTags. FASTag is an electronic toll collection system in India, allowing vehicles to pass through toll booths without stopping for cash transactions.

On Jan. 31, the Reserve Bank directed Paytm Payments Bank (PPBL) to stop accepting deposits or top-ups in any customer accounts, wallets, FASTTags and other instruments after Feb. 29. .

Such decisions might be influenced by various factors, including regulatory compliance, service quality, or contractual agreements. Removing a bank from the list of authorized issuers could have implications for users who have obtained FASTags through Paytm Payments Bank.

Total 32 authorized banks

The 32 authorised banks include Airtel Payments Bank, Allahabad Bank, Bank of Baroda, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, IDBI Bank, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India, and Yes Bank, among others. On Jan. 31, the Reserve Bank directed Paytm Payments Bank (PPBL) to stop accepting deposits or top-ups in any customer accounts, wallets, FASTTags and other instruments after Feb. 29.
